If only this was not the truth

Imagine the company you work for flying you and your significant other to Ibiza for four days.

Imagine the company size being 22 people (so 44 in total going to a resort on Ibiza).

Imagine that 10 of those employee’s were no longer with the company 12 months later.

Imagine the CEO saying that it was poor performance or laziness as to why those employee’s were no longer with the company. Imagine four of those 10 having been fired and the other six leaving on their own.

Imagine that the 10 that left had all been with the company less than two (2) years before flying to Ibiza and within three (3) years, having left the company. (Most of the 10 were there and gone in less than 16 months.)

It’s not fiction — so no imagination needed.

It happened and is still occurring. The company still has a 50% (avg) turnover rate and the CEO continues to blame it on the employee’s, the managers (hiring poorly), and whatever else that allows the CEO to claim victimhood instead of responsibility.

I’ve written about this company before — and how poorly managed it is. It could do some great stuff and grow significantly, but the CEO is narcissistic and is unwilling to change or make the steps needed for success.

When a ship is sinking, it is easier to throw everything overboard than it is to fix the leak.
